im writing this on my new computer

My thesis for my paper is Smoking and drinking while pregnant is beneficial because the mother will be stress free, the baby will be used to smoke and alcohol, and The baby won’t have to worry about weight problems.Some of my main points are smoking is a stress reliever so the mother won't be so stressed, and theb aby will be born stress free.

outline

I finished my outline except I still have to figure out my thesis and introductory paragraph. It works out perfect so I can reply to your last post after class tomorrow when I have my thesis, and opening paragraph complete. I will have my outline, and every done for class tomorrow.

spring semester

So yesterday I said I was having trouble figuring out my schedule. I eventually figured it out and found classes that would keep my schedule the exact same as this semester. That is exactly what I wanted because of work and school interfering. I am happy I could figure it out without having to change my work schedule.

Today I had to register for spring classes, and I'm having a hard time figuring out what times I want my classes. I feel like everything is scattered for days and times, It interferes with work. So I am hoping to figure something out between school and work where I can make my schedule so it doesn't effect me in a negative way.

When was the last time you changed your mind about something after reading a book or article or listening to a debate? Explain what happened.

I read an article on how head head to head hits in football need to be taken away in the NFL because of how dangerous they are. I used to think it was a part of the game, and players shouldn't get fined for big hits. Now that I read that article I changed my mind, I agree with the fines these players are getting. This is a big topic in sports right now, and it doesn't seem like fines are making any change at all.

Is there anything that teachers can learn from students? Discuss.

I think teachers can learn little things about how to make class more interesting for the students. Certain teachers just don't make anything interesting so it's much harder to pay attention in class, but that doesn't go for every teacher. That's the main thing teachers could learn from their students.

If you had the time and opportunity to sit in on any college classes just for the purpose of learning about the subject, which classes would you choose? Why?

If I could choose to sit in any college classes I would choose health, and sports classes because I want to do something in that department. I would like to sit through health classes that have to do with how the human body works, I am interested in learning new things about our bodies and how they work. Health is the only thing I really find interesting.

What was the most useless invention of the twentieth century? Explain.

The most useless invention of the twentieth century in my opinion was the cigarette holder for two. The whole concept of this invention is just awkward because of the shape and size. no one is actually going to walk around carrying a cigarette holder of that size for two people. You can only smoke one cigarette at a time so basically your sharing a cigarette with someone if you want to use it.

I am thankful for my house, and my family, without them I would be doing nothing most likely. I'm thankful for my x box, and my room. I'm thankful for my most of my friends. I am thankful for my car, and my new shoes.

I am really sick of you coming into my house and thinking you can do whatever you want. You piss me off everytime I see you because you are aselfish and disrespectful you come over and eat everything in my house, but can't listen to a word I say. You wouldn't like it if I went to your house and acted the way you do, but than again that's the reason you never have anyone over your house. I just think you are selfish and I am really sick of it because it pisses me off next time i will just throw you out.

I am so tired

I am not a morning person at all this is the only early class I have. I don't think I will take another early class like this I would prefer a later class, but not to late. A class at around 11:00 or 12:00 seems good for me 8 is just to early I feel like I am still sleeping. It's not that bad once you get up for this class, but for me it's getting me out of bed which is the trouble, so I will just stick to the later classes after this early class.

If I could have any one gift it would definitely be curing cancer because I have lost two people in my family to cancer. I think it is the worst thing in the world. I think it is really important to find the cure, I would pick this because it is one of my biggest fears I don't want to loose anyone else to this sickness. If I didn't choose that I would probably choose the other thing you mentioned ending war would be so much better for the world, but I would much rather find the cure for cancer.

If I could sit in on any college class just to learn about the subject it would have be health classes. I would choose health because I would like to learn more about the human body and how things work. Honestly I don't think I know that much in detail about health and how things work. I just think it's interesting how things work in our bodies, and would like to learn more.

I believe teachers can learn a few things from their students. This doesn't speak for all teachers, but I think a lot of teachers could learn a few things. One thing teachers good definitley learn is that if you talk about interesting things, and do it in the right manner students will pay attention during class more often than not. Some teachers already do that When I have a class that the teacher is interesting it's so much easier to listen and learn.

If you could take one entire year off from your responsibilities of school or work, how would you spend that year? Explain why you would make these choices.

If I could take one year off I would travel all over the place. I always loved going away and seeing different places. There are so many different places in the world I would love to see, mostly in the carribean such as Jamaica, Aruba and Tahiti. I would also like to see a few places in Europe such as Italy, France and Spain. That is definitely what I would do if I had the chance to take year off I wouldn't even think twice about it.

What advice would you give to your former high school teachers about preparing students for college?

I would have a lot of advice for my former high school teachers on preparing us for college. I think they should have done a better job with writing in general because a lot of the things they taught us I am now being told is wrong. I think they did a good job in most subjects except English because they just didn't teach us the right punctuation, and the right way to write an essay in high school. Since I have been in college I have learned that high school English teachers weren't correct when it comes to writing an essay, so that is basically what I would give my high school teachers advice on.

election day

The first part of my school year has been good for the most part.It is what I expected for the most part except I am a little overwhelmed now that I found out what my grade is in this class. I am doing well in all my other classes I just need to start doing more of these blogs which I forget about a lot of the time. I put a reminder in my phone so I can remember to do them everyday from now on because I really need to do better in this class.

If I could sit down and talk with any one living person it would most likely be Terry Francona the manager of The Boston Red Sox. I would like to hear about the 2004 season when the Red Sox came back to beat the yankees and go on to win their first World Series in 86 years. Noone could explain that feeling better then the manager himself. That is a once in a lifetime situation not many people get to manage a team that hasn't won in 86 years, and than they come back to beat the New York Yankees the richest franchise in sports. That is why I would choose Terry Francona.

I think this video is kind of confusing in a way, the man was using words I have nevewr heard before. I will say it is really interesting how he talked and the words were shown in all different forms. This video really explains language, and how you are really supposed to speak. The video explains almost everything you need to know about about language it is really smart, but could really confuse someone. This video clip is really interesting, I have never seen or heard anything like this before. That's what I thought about the video clip.

Books, music, films, TV, Internet.... Hm.

There a few movies I would reccomend seeing, but for the music I would have said the first two eminem albums, and you already named them. I would also reccomend the first two blink 182 cds and green days first cd. I really don't do much reading unless it's a magazine so I really cant reccomend much, but I think Stephen King's topics are very interesting. For movies I would reccomend American Gangster, Old School, A Bronx Tale and Law Abiding Citizen.

Illogical BS

This is like false advertisment in my eyes, noone dips those kind of cookies in coffee. Getting to the point from what I could find in the book it seems to be a fallacious argument to me; it's done in a picture to make the coffee look more appealing I think. I don't understand why they would show a picture of those type of cookies when they can't be used; they should hva eused a different type so it's not a lie.

Scientists found a new language

I think this article is rediculous. I don't understand why any country would loose languages, and find new languages. You don't see England or America changing our language all the time it makes no sense. i find this to be really wierd, I have never heard of anything like this before

pumpkin-shortage-is-ovI found this article above on the pumkin sahortage coming to end, which is great news for pumpkin lovers. Last year there was a limited supplu of canned pumpkins due tothe amount of rain there was a shortage of pumpkins. Good news this year the limited supply is over. I chose this article because i like this time of year and it's one of the only articles that was actually good news. I think it's terrible all the articles these days are negative. This article was perfect for this time of year that's why I chose it.

I would never bu one of these for anyone, I think it's pretty messe up someone would make mentally challenged stuffed animals, but that's jsut my opinion.

Three weeks and counting

I have gotten everything done ahead of time that has been asssinged in my other classes. I am feeling really good about all my classes actually I'm not nervous at all which is a relief compared to last semester. Although I do have one upcoming test in my math class taht should be easy for the most part. I understand everything so it's been really enjoyable going to school and not having any stress looming over me about upcoming assignments.

Oh my goodness! We're 2 weeks in already!

This is my second year here at OCC, but when I first got here I expected it to be alot diffrent from highschool, but really it isn't much different at all. The one thing I found very different that I didn't expect is your teachers really don't care if you don't show up to class it's all on you, if you don't show that's your problem noones going to tel lyou what to do. I like it because I think it made me much more responsible, I know I have to do everything on my own. That's what really surprised me about college, and it's not a bad thing at all I think we all need a way to grow up and be mature that really helped me in that way. I also like that you can choose your own scedule it makes it a lot easier to go to school, and work at the same time. That's what really surprised me about coming to OCC.
